The link between languages and other socio-economic areas or academic disciplines cannot be denied. In fact, the development of a language is closely connected to external factors such as, especially in today’s society, the use of technology.

Taking this approach and a bidirectional perspective, LIFE’s research and analysis department aims at finding common links and means for improvement among the different areas having an influence in the development of modern languages, or on the contrary, areas where the evolution of a language conditions the progress of other disciplines.
From this department LIFE proposes the elaboration of reports, the organisation of conferences and panel discussions, the participation in forums, etc., where the main topics will be:
  • The influence of new technologies in the development of existing languages.
  • The present and the future of languages in such a global context where English is used as a working language.
  • The development of translation and interpreting techniques.
